You

A friendship that has grown
Of all of those who have their own
Sees you and me happy with glee
But that is only what they see

Deep down I know
You're the only one who can grow

You excel
And compel
You prove
As I remove

I remove my imperfections
Which are endless compared to your corrections

You who believes our friendship is strong
You (for once) who couldn't be more wrong
You are perfect in everyway
And here I am as I go astray

I hate you
But I wish to be perfect just like you

And as my smile fades
As the people walk past and only give you praise
I am ignored, only a smudge compared to the impact you have on their lives
I am nothing, merely an ant compared to your size

You're better than me in everyway
And as I look at you I say -

'Must I live under your umbrella?
Must I live under your umbrella forever?'
