I Miss You Like Noah's Rainy Days

by Soulful Ensemble   Oct 24, 2008

There's nothing up there where dogs stare
And protect the gate with their hair.
A silent crowd watches all the fun
Beneath the opera singing son.

There's not a sound below where cats bark
And dogs meow there in the dark.
Your beautiful brown eyes are gazing
With the power of the bull that's grazing.

I miss you like Noah's rainy days
Amid the storm and with no pain
To wash up the cold, shivered heart
That is now just about ready to start.

Seeing you there calms my inside bear
That was roaring just now so loud
If you heard it you might not bare
And run so far away to the clouds.

The mother pets the dog and says "good girl"
While, sitting, on a bench I see the world.
Sit next to me my fair little angel of light!
Oh! I miss you, wont you light the spark?

The light goes on behind me in the dark
Amid a cave placed next to the park
Strategically to keep away the sharks
That swoon in the pool outside the ark.

I miss you like Noah's rainy days
Ever since you went to bed in May.
I let you have a piece of me to take
And you know our love cannot be fake.

I'm crying joy through my pores
That my soul knows are at my core.
I'll swim to very distant shores
And find you opening the door
So that I may walk through to end the war.

The sweet soft summer nights aren't hollow
They carry me throughout the day tomorrow
And you walk right here for me to follow
As melancholy surfaces I just swallow.

I want to kiss you in distant shores
Beneath the mountains and plateaus.
Hold my hand and travel more
I'm never ready to let you go.

Don't wear a frown because I know when its around
And your hand turns and turns because the world is round.
The ark is moving so fast I don't want you to drown
I'll play a song if you're lost so you can be found.

The sun is coming out in the middle of the night
And everyone panics to cause so much fright.
But a long time ago when time had begun
Everyone was happy just to see the sun.

I'm happy when the sun comes knocking no matter when
Because your eyes are magic in the hour of men.
I've loved you for so long ever since now and then
And the clock spins so time can sing Amen.

I know crying is not a bad thing and dying is natural to think
But don't let the moon catch you dying or crying a wink
Because rainy days will never stop after today
And you know that I still love you so don't go away.

Ever since we've been together
I don't look for rainy weather
But I miss you like Noah's rainy days
And I like to wait and see you come my way.

Sonny and Cher sing ," don't let them say your hair's too long"
"Because with you ,I know, I cant be wrong."
And if being right is wrong then being wrong is right
And if they say its wrong then I will start a fight.

I miss you like Noah's rainy days
Waiting beneath the ocean waves.
I'm carrying a golden ring so bright
That it lights the sky and makes all things right.

Your message was beautiful i enjoyed the story of it immensely.

    but...

Your rhyme scheme was very eratic; it was very distracting as I read it to keep looking at the end of each line wondering how it was going to rhyme this time.

Secondly the flow seemed off to me.
