Roundabout

by Baby Rainbow   Oct 25, 2008

Spinning on the roundabout
faster and faster
i have the sudden urge to shout
but no one will hear me

my vision going hazy
everything looks blurry
my mind is going crazy
I'm out of control

more and more it starts to spin
but still i don't feel dizzy
i cant stop it i cant win
this roundabout controls me

Simple yet effective this poem shows how life can so easily overcome us and send our emotions spinning out of control, especially when young as we often have so little say in how our lives are run.

Your youth shines through here but that is no bad thing. I think an older writer may have tried to overcomplicate the metaphor and it would then have become far less effective.
