Serenitys Unshed Tear

by Deana   Oct 26, 2008

Serenity's Unshed Tear

Serenity's silent longings
Can footsteps be retraced?
Castles built upon the sand
Foundations fall in place

Sunsets sad reminders
Some things can never be
Dreams scattered on the wind
Slowly washing out to sea

Evening light, soft but dim
Heart cries out for rest
Wishes made on falling stars
From deep within repressed

Horizon speaks a distant call
Silent whispers, is its song
Lyrics lost in melody
Distant seagulls sing along

Mirage is lying just ahead
To disappoint and disappear
Feelings in the night relive
Serenity's unshed tear

Far reaching and touching write. It brings one to feel the pain.
Can footsteps be retraced? Dreams washed out to sea. Mirages to disappear.
Forgive me if I am wrong , but this seems to be the writing of a person with deep regrets of the choices made in their life, and the feeling that there is no way out of them. Sad indeed that one feels trapped in a life unwanted.

Beautifully penned. Excellent flow and word choice. Good rhythm and is void of forced rhyming. What a well deserving win!
