Enlightened

by Beautiful Chaos   Oct 26, 2008

Do I wish to taste enlightenment?
Yes sir, I do
Like a starving man at the feast
I salivate without thought

My mind eating
Before lips can touch a single crumb
But time
It has had other plans

I must say I have quite enjoyed the journey
Obscure smiles
Twisted tears
Wistful joys

Each one containing it's own measure of knowledge
I prefer to meander towards the alter
Absorbing and recreating
Each piece of life I caress

To be born into this age of reason
Your enlightenment
To find the true self with no need of will
How could this be better?

The dips and curves
Twists and turns
This realm of experience and emotion
Here I thrive

Do I wish to find enlightenment sir?
Yes
Yes I do
Near the end of my days
When time allows
After life has been found and lived
Enlightenment shall be my reward
