Don't Stare

by a broken smile with a broken heart is a poets life   Oct 27, 2008

What do you stare at?
Want to know what's under the bandages?
Do you want to see the art I've created with my blade?
You want to know.
You stare so much.
I don't need pity keep it to yourself.
Or do you think I'm an idiot?
And now you hate me?

Oh don't stare.
It's rude.
Look away and continue your happy life.
Keep smiling while I'm dying inside.
You want to help me?
Please don't stare.
You want to hold me?
Don't bother I have no hope.

Look away.
Forget you have seen my scars.
Go live and laugh
Don't waste your time.
Please look away while I cry.
It's killing me more inside.
Please don't stare.

    This part was my favorite:
    "Look away.
Forget you have seen my scars.
    Go live and laugh
    Don't waste your time.
Please look away while I cry.
    It's killing me more inside.
    Please don't stare."
Very nicely worded poem. The message that came across to me was one that I think needs to be learned more often. Flow was brilliant. The first through third lines also were heart-touching. 5/5
