Is this what we've become?

by Lameez Petersen   Oct 27, 2008

Is this what we've become?
No longer anything, no longer one!
Is this what we must be?
Strangers to each other, no longer you and me!

I lay beside you during the night
And the urge to touch you, gives me a fright.
As I wonder if you'll love me the way you should
Or will you turn your back and say you're not in the mood.

All I hear and feel is your lies
All I see is how this marriage fries.
Is she worth all this pain?
Did you lose sight of all we've gained?

If it's her you want, then let me know
If it's her you need, I'll gladly let you go
But if it's me, then I beg you dear
To stop this affair cause our end is out there.

First of all, it's a long time that i've not read one of your poem, and i remember how much i could relate to most of them. All i wanted to say about this poem is that, never settled for less than what you worth. Sometimes, forgiveness does not mean we forget it, but it takes the force of a lion to deal with it. Some women rather pretends it doesn't exist, while other accepts it, but what if it was them doing it? Anyway, i enjoy your writing styles. Keep on writing...)
