Two strangers

by Matthew Schut   Oct 28, 2008

Two people
Used to be lovers
Now are distant strangers

A smile that used to warm my heart
Only shatters every piece of my soul

A simple hello
That used to send shivers
Now makes me mad inside

A wave
That once made me excited
Makes me never want to see her again

Your face
That I used to lay awake to and stare
I just look in disgust of the person inside

The love
That used to seem that it would last forever
I wonder now if it was really even love

A friendship
That I would give the world to hold onto
I am now walking away, happier than ever

How can this happen
Two people that thought it was so right
Now act as if they are complete strangers
