Time to Collect

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Oct 28, 2008

I am the collector of broken hearts.
Give me yours so you feel no more.
No longer a victim of painful darts,
no more blood dripping to the floor.

I am the collector of tattered souls.
Let me take yours off you hands.
No morals forcing you to pay tolls,
no worries of spiritual demands.

I am the collector of bleeding ears.
Allow me to pluck yours off your head.
No voices telling you of your fears,
no nightmares of what you heard said.

I am the collector of twisted minds.
Shall your burden be taken away?
No more not being like other kinds,
no misunderstandings to stay.

I am the collector of damaged skin.
All things ugly you may give to me.
No more worries of not being thin,
no fears of what people may see.

I am the collector of dreadful pasts.
I will take away everything you hide.
No regretful memories shall last,
no thoughts of dark times will reside.

I am the collector of scarred eyes.
Don't worry of what you will see.
No hurtful feelings will come to rise,
no visions of how things may be.

Allow us to collect all things bad.
We promise to make all things right.
With us, there will be no more sad,
only illusions of your path in the light.

I'm not sure why, but I read this before and didn't comment on it.

I feel this poem is reprisents something more than just a 'collector' perhaps it's almost that little voice that is always telling you to do the wrong thing.

Either way it's a very good poem. I don't really feel that you should change anything or any advice for you on this poem. I think it's perfect the way they are.
