The Demon (a sonnet)

by Summer   Oct 28, 2008

She falls into a downward spiral
As she looks into her dad's jaded eyes
Never has she seen those eyes so vile
With one quick glance a piece of her soul dies

Eyes full of the screaming fires of hell
She prays for the sun to greet her again
The morning's sweet peace, her eyes beg for help
Waiting for this painful night to end

She begs and pleas but he shows no mercy
A relentless man with a heart of stone
No one believes a man that's so comely
Could hurt her so bad when she's all alone

A ruthless entity is all that he is
The one that decides if she dies or she lives
