Self Absorption

by Beautiful Chaos   Oct 29, 2008

Head in the clouds
Nose to the grind
I'll sleep when I'm dead
Though fear I'm behind

I'll owe some long days
To fate and her charm
For though I've done good
I've also done harm

I've tasted fresh love
Hearts, I've left broken
Screamed for the truth
Though left it unspoken

I've preached and I've rambled
Got lost on the road,
Blinded by pain
My choices bestowed

Dark written words
And pages of light
Recording my struggle
Exposing my plight

A mere human soul
Too godly in mind
To see when they're failing
Or falling behind

    That was a good one
I love your about-life poems..they're always full of wisdom.
Reading this one I felt like I'm reading a famous poet's piece..you know when you feel like it's not written by an ordinary poet :)

    I'll owe some long days
    To fate and her charm
    For though I've done good
    I've also done harm

I Loved this stanza best...it was truly well written, we've all done the bad and the good and one day we'll have to pay for everything.
That held a beautiful meaning !!

    I've tasted fresh love
    Hearts, I've left broken
    Screamed for the truth
    Though left it unspoken

This stanza was really beautifully written too, the rhyme here was perfect, though some words might be cliche.

I felt good while reading this one.
    write on
    xx
