The Good Dream(Healing Heart)

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Oct 30, 2008

Frost is glistening on the grass in the early morning sun.
My eye lashes flutter open as another day has begun.
I hear the birds singing their songs high up in the trees.
I pull the covers close to keep the cold away from me.

I can smell the refreshing scent of flowers in the air.
I smile as I look over and see the roses you left there.
I realize that I fell way too hard, too far, and too fast.
I take a deep sigh as I pray that this new love will last.

There's a song playing softly and I recognize the tune.
It's a song I sing over that reminds me of only you.
A knocking sounds gentle against my bedroom door.
I roll over quickly and pretend to sleep as before.

I hear your footsteps fall lightly on the tile as you walk.
You lower down beside me just like I had thought.
Your lips are warm against my neck as you kiss my skin.
I try so hard to fight this feeling, but I just can't win.

I sigh a content sigh and snuggle against your frame,
Open my eyes slowly as you whisper my name.
I roll over on my back and stare in to your bright eyes,
Getting lost in the ocean of blue that shames the skies.

I hear you mumble something that I don't understand.
I'm starting to get confused as you let go of my hand.
"Sweetheart,I got to go." ,your voice sounds lazy.
Paranoia sets in as everything starts to seem hazy.

I wake up with a shiver as a chill crawls down my spine,
Remember that you're not here and you're not yet mine.
I look out the window and in to the pitch dark,
Remember loves pain to prepare my healing heart.
