I Still Miss You

My days are longer,
and my nights are cold,
My every thought is of you,
I miss the look you use to give,
and the smile you once had,
I miss the sparkle in your eyes,
and the way you said my name,
I miss the way you hugged me,
and our silly little games,
I miss sitting by the pond,
Oh the smiles and laughs they brought,
I miss our time together.

It's not fair what happened,
Why they took you like they did,
I couldn't believe it,
when they told me the news,
That you got hit by a car,
I sat by your bed,
and prayed you'd make it through,
my days with you so horribly numbered,
motionless I sat and hoped for a sign,
at last a sign of hope,
It couldn't possibly be real,
It was truly my one moment of hope,
and suddenly you were gone,
I held you in my arms,
and watched you take your last breath,
I watched the one i loved just slip away!

Years after it happened,
and i still miss you,
the memories of you still fresh,
as if it were yesterday!
