Tale as Old as Time

It's been a while since she's seen him,
Funny how we drift apart,
The world always drags us closer
Just to break our hearts.

Enter the beast and the lovely belle,
They sweetly smile, they are friends.
Rose buds bloom betwixt the two,
Both dying for the happy end.

She's sorta kinda beautiful,
He's a performer in a band...
He feels so insignificant,
She just wants to hold his hand.

Gaston comes smiling down,
Disguised, and nicely dressed.
Our lovely little Belle
Is ever so impressed.

She's swept away without the Beast,
Disappearing from the scene.
Both their hearts are beating,
Both beats go long unseen.

She wakes up in the morning,
Pretty as every day is true,
But Gaston rejects her once again,
Submerging her in blue.

Beast is rising with the sun,
He smiles at the birds,
Thankful for their lovely song
That secretly sings of God's word.

Another day is passing,
Another day is gone.
The beast, he prays silently
For Belle to come back to him at dawn.

The morning sun is rising,
Another day, another pain.
It seems like without each other,
There is nothing left to gain.

The Beast rises from his rumpled bed,
Rubbing at his eyes;
A banging at the door...
Simple innocent surprise.

Belle is standing there,
Morning all around her head.
She's falling into his arms
As though her heart is dead.

She can't seem to breathe,
She surely cannot speak.
Belle realizes who she really loves
And holds tightly to the Beast.

Not everyone is as they seem,
Perfection slowly fades...
And with a rhyme as old as time
Perceptions quickly change.

Belle holds close to her her lovely "Beast"
And she whispers in his ear,
"I think this is the happy ending
That we've both been dying for for years."
