Eighty Two Days of Love

by Soulful Ensemble   Oct 31, 2008

Eighty two days of love is what we have
From August to October pain is cut in half
And as it shoots forward to the sky
My smile becomes stronger and will fly
Imprinted
Where common knowledge died.

The sun casts a shadow under the bridge
Making all the homeless rich.
Quiet rain wont touch the ghostly ridge
Its stitched
And the rich man opens up an empty fridge.

When you're gone I'm homeless inside;
My fridge is empty and I'm unsatisfied.
Eighty two days have rolled by fast
I need you more and more than I did in the past.

As my love becomes stronger, I need you more
And time moving on makes my heart roar.
Your love is greatly needed, because I'm yours'--
I shoot into the sky through an open door.

Eighty two days have passed, baby
Open your arms and let me inside.
I'm knocking on your door and maybe
Pretty soon you'll let me glide
So my soul wont have to say it died.

Eighty two days... can you believe it?
Twenty days in August can see it
And thirty one days in September beat it
So thirty one days in October could feel it
And the staircase doesn't wind down, separate or split
And through heaven's door it will always fit.

Its long but not so long that we've arrived
The boat is still traveling and the car will drive
When we reach the end we will have survived
But there is no end so we will always be alive.

Love's immortal reign has got the best of me
Your heart's clutches gently clutched me
While your hands reached out to touch me
And the sky has blown a kiss to set me free.

Hey, I love you Leilah, and I miss you
Every minute spent together I will kiss you.
I know, you know, our time right now is special
I'm climbing mountains to see you because its essential.

So, happy Halloween to your heart that leans
Up against mine where the sun gleams
It seems
I see the waterfall that calmly streams
Caressing our love in so many dreams.

I'm pressed against your heart like glue
To be together forever under a yellow moon
Where happiness and love is all that is strewn.
We are never, ever through...
My heart sings, baby, I love you.
