Your Knock Upon Our Door

by Tom Swart   Oct 31, 2008

Your Knock Upon Our Door

Tonight I felt you little girl,
as I lay with my dreams for you.
I sensed the gentle movements as you
Tapped upon lifes door.

I held your little hand those times
As we made our way to school.
I later heard you coming home,
When you knocked upon our door.

I was your sister and your brother
And we loved you very much
We always enjoyed your hugs,
When you knocked upon our door.

I am your daughter and your reflection
My life is filled with you
I welcome each treasured memory,
When you knocked upon my door.

I am your son and your sweetness
I am here to fill your life
I was never so happy,as
When you knocked upon my door.

We are your friends and your loves
Each with our moments held near
All those welcomed occasions
When you knocked upon our door.

Now we feel the sadness, and the emptiness,
as Your laughter and your smile have gone.
We will forever miss the sound,
When you knocked upon our door.

    Dear friend,

How are you Tom? I hope that your health is doing better and that you are well and in good spirits.

I really loved this poem and when I read these words now as a father, they open up to me so much more. It was excellent.

I pray that good reaches you where ever you are friend.

    Take care,

Wow Tom this is a really beautiful poem and so well expressed, a rather melancholy reflection on life recently passed, and of course ending in loss and sadness, your poem flowed very well and was well written
