Stop running

by Matthew Schut   Nov 1, 2008

You walked up to me today
Grabbing me and holding me once again
You held me for about three minutes
And acted like we're more than friends

You stared at me, as if you knew
You gave me that look once again
The one that says I want you
And you never wanted the moment to end

So why are you doing it
Why are you playing this stupid game
You know that your heart isn't his
And your heart still beats my name

What can I do to prove it to you
What can I say to make you see
My heart is still in the palm of your hand
And your heart still belongs to me

Stop trying to fight this love
Stop trying to push us away
You are only hurting both of us
Please come back to stay

I really miss the "us" that used to be
I miss the things that made us great
I wish you could just open your eyes
And realize that I'm your soul mate

But I will continue moving on
And living a life with tears
Maybe one day you will notice it
That I can take away all those fears

Me and you together
Is how it's supposed to be
We can make it through anything
Perfect together, just you and me
