I like you

by reJoyce   Nov 2, 2008

I'm suffocating on the moon
In an atmosphere of ample gravity
And thin air.
I'm the closest thing to earth
Yet thousands of miles away.

Why won't you tell me to breathe?

I feel like I' been competing for your attention
And I'm losing motivation
I just accept the distance
And watch it grow

I'm trying not to be oversensitive
So I won't be moody anymore
Nor will I hide my discontent
Cause when you hurt me like this
It desensitizes me
And makes me more of a man

However it doesn't numb the pain
It just makes it easier to cope,
But eventually this won't even hurt
Cause I won't even care.

If you were even considering waiting
Til you'd be ready for me,
How does dating him help?
And how can I help you
Over this brick wall
If you refuse to reach out your hand?

I'm not invincible
And I'm not perfect
So I will react to pain,
But one thing will always remain
And it is yet to be said again.
