Recovering (Triquatrain)

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 2, 2008

I wander cold, when all is told,
Alone within my heart,
I should have seen, read in between,
The lines you tore apart.

I never knew, the honest you,
Deceitful in your ways,
Tender lies, distant eyes,
Lips of faulty praise.

The pain I feel, though all too real,
Will pass as time moves on,
I won't forget or hold regret,
Though love has come and gone.

Thought you'd win, pride is sin,
I'm damaged but not broken,
Lessons learned, scars were earned,
Destiny has spoken.

Excellent !!! A sad piece. It flows well, the rhyming is not forced and you did a great job adhering to the rules of the form!
