Watch and Reflect

by shadow   Nov 2, 2008

What is it like to not be angry all the time?
What is it like to not feel you could never get more?
Who actually cares about any of the choices I make,
As I walk out through these familiar doors?

I've seen some suffer from the pain of their families
I've seen some cry for someone they've lost
I've watched as some self-destruct in plain sight
And others base their choices on a simple coin toss

I watch all these people drive themselves far away
Listen to all their stories and see their tears fall
I've chosen to ignore those that cause me more pain
And cling onto those who force my head high above all

But sometimes it's those moments in between the rest
Where silence meets my mind's thoughts and concerns
And I only have time to see the reflection of myself
As I walk along this path making all the wrong turns.
