Finally Home

by CaptureMyHeart   Nov 3, 2008

As the days go by and the nights get longer,
Still I dream of your face
The lights are growing dimmer but yet shining still
Brightly I look toward the future, thinking of what could have been and what now will occur,
Several terrible moments of time have gone sense I heard,
Of your swift departure from this dreadful world,
Life is full of surprises,
So I guess this is just another kick in the gut
A stone blocking your path,
A man laughing in your face, telling you, you cant go any farther,
The wind blows through the leaves, rippling them like golden waves across a long and endless sea; I stand for ages just beyond where anyone can ever touch me,
There you are waiting, with a boyish smile upon your face,
All the lines of stress, lies and worry have abandoned you,
Leaving only the best shadow of the person you were,
I see you standing there, beyond my reach,
The sun shines behind you,
Illuminating your every feature,
Softly smiling, you whisper, its ok, Im at peace,
Im home as the last words uttered from your lips
Reach my unwilling ears, I look up, at your blue eyes and realize,
Yes, you finally are home.
