What matters [not a poem]

by Just Keara   Nov 5, 2008

I will never forget the look in her eyes. It was like she was looking right through me; as if she could hear my thoughts; see the images floating within my head. She had complete control over me. Anything she said I would oblige to without a second thought. I loved her that much. I still do.

Everything that has happened within the last few months were things I never even imagined myself doing ever in my lifetime. And I took such a big loss. Thirteen hundred dollars...gone. I left my family and lost some friends...and distorted relationships with others. I cried so many tears and my heart ached so many nights. I did it all for her.

But you know what?

I have no regrets. I'd do every single thing again in a heartbeat; no questions asked. Everything.

Because she's worth it. Maybe not to anyone else. But to me. I don't care how she dresses or where she's from. I don't care how she acts in public or how she speaks. I don't care about how she goes about making her money. None of that matters. What matters is her smile and the way she looks at me. What matters is her laugh and how she loves to make fun of me. What matters is the nicknames she gave me and the times she would just listen to me vent. What matters is how content I feel when we're in the same room. What matters is her hugs.

What matters is she makes me happy. What matters is she makes my heart content. What matters is she's one of my best friends. What matters is no one else has ever made me feel the way that she does.

What matters is I love her.
