Nightingale

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 6, 2008

Nestled in the darkened woods
Devouring your song
In the softness of your voice
Is just where I belong

My winged muse of simple faith
I'll follow you to death
Professing every ounce of love
Within my dying breath

I pray that God would ease the way
Your harmony in my ear
No matter what my fate may be
With this there is no fear

My nightingale within the deep
Departures of my soul
Each time you come to sing for me
I somehow feel more whole

No matter what my troubles are
I drift into your haze
The world could end, I wouldn't care
I'd dance within the blaze

A silly mortal lost in love
Such beauty in a tune
Our resting place is in the stars
Just beyond the moon

Beautifully penned. Wonderful imagery. Your words paint a picture. The flow and rhythm are good and the poem is void of forced rhyming. Good word choice. Well worth the read.
