Crash & Burn

by Paiger   Nov 6, 2008

They speak of how we talk,
of how our eyes meet.
The mental portrait of us
it's what they all see,
but all I can think of
is another crash and burn

This is when it happens,
this faze is always when
it turns from sweet to sour
and it lasted but an hour.
A quick, but painful, crash and burn

When mentioning our similarities
they all smile, they see what I know will never be
Because I know you will hurt me now.
I know the pattern, you can no longer fool me.
I am accustom to the signs of
the crash and burn

I know that feeling when it's hard to breathe,
but breath I must, so I can ignore the sensation.
Because if I acknowledge the beauty
I will only feel the pain that much more.
Try not to feel it crash and burn

They are the tears I've already shed,
the fears from which I've already fled
and the pain that now feels numb
I know that it's there
But I turn away with out a care
Because I know that it will soon be over
It's just another crash and burn

I can no longer pretend
Because I do not want this to be
Another crash and burn
