Oh my lady, I received your urgent message and now my life is in turmoil
For once in my life I told you of your illness and I was correct - you ARE ill!
My heart felt your illness and pleaded with me to inform you of your body's troubles
Now you are in Hospital and I sit here alone without you and I am unable to function.
Together we have travelled through so many of life's upheavals and have survived them all
But this one will prove to be the hardest difficulty either of us will ever have to face; then conquer
My eyes are red from the constant flow of tears that do not understand the reason for their flow
Our hearts must hold themselves tighter than they have ever before bonded in our harmony of love.
As I sit here composing this poem the sun is shining yet in this space an eerie darkness taunts me
I shall not allow this darkness to hide thoughts of you from me as you are my love and my very life
Unknown to you I am there by your side and should the world end today we will remain together
Were my hands able to heal you they would be wrapped around you banishing all traces of your illness.
Many poets have written words surrounding love and its importance in the lives of many people
True as this statement is; not one of those poets has ever captured words describing my love for you
What poet could pen the joy I witness as I lie beside you feeling your love dancing into my heart?
Orchid Lady to describe your charms would take me a thousand lifetimes without giving you true justice.
You are the air I breathe; the goodness I crave; and without exception the very essence of my life partner
Through each day of our togetherness you have lovingly forged me into the man I am today -
- instilling into my heart an eagerness to return to you many fold the same love you unselfishly share with me
Now as you lie in hospital I want you to know my love is there with you and it will grow ever stronger.
