Sonnet 9: Gore

by Soulful Ensemble   Nov 7, 2008

It feels like you left me alone in bed
Like you wouldn't cuddle and kiss my head
Like the sun wasn't good enough for you
So that I lay in darkness feeling blue.
It seems like rain is drowning my mind
And who will drain the pipes that wind
Until they eventually join to show
That the source of everything is a black crow.
Well.. you couldn't stick around and I
Seem to only think of that one goodbye
My heart is aching to hear once more
Because you seem to feel it is a chore.
So you've left-- walked out the empty door
Your eyes weren't ready for the bloody gore.
