Coming Home

by meganmarie   Nov 9, 2008

Twilight comes
you're still not home
she starts to worry
will you come back?

6 months today
you left for war
with one last kiss
you left without a word

she waited here
praying for your safe return
sad truth about it
the chances are slim

twilight turns to night
still you haven't come home
she knows he's never coming back
and tears erupt from her eyes

as she heads off to bed
the front door closes
her soldier came home
as he holds close to his heart

    Beautifully done, perfect ending...
Though i believed it would have been better if it ended tragic. Maybe you could write this one over in a tragic ending, either way it's perfect as is, just a suggestion i guess...
