A Scarlet Kiss ( Sonnet)

by Ingrid   Nov 10, 2008

A Scarlet Kiss ( Sonnet)

Scarlet was her kiss left upon his cheek,
A tender bright promise for tomorrow.
The fragrance of sweetness that all men seek,
Such lips cleanse a man's heart of all sorrow.

His life had scratched a scar that ran so deep.
Too much pain had made his soul icy cold.
Coldness that stole his love and made him weep.
Sorrow flowed as did the tears, sadly told.

In her he had found new hope, a new life.
She made him look to the future, not back.
The kind of joy and love for which we strive.
Found his other half of which he did lack.

Her emerald green eyes breathed life to his.
So together they lived, Love's scarlet kiss.

This poem was a collab with my sweet friend Michael Moran aka Mr. Darcy.
It was an honor and a privilege to work with you, Michael. You are an outstanding poet and a true gentleman:)

A beautiful love story of finding the one person who wipes away the past and makes us look to the future with joy and love and makes us feel complete. Excellent write and seamless. Good job to both of you.
