Awhile More

by Emily   Nov 10, 2008

Hush now, child of war,
I know they're calling,
Friends that are no more...
Death is beckoning
Your heart is following,
I know you're tired,
Tired of the horror, the gore of war...
But stay awhile more.

Sleep now, son of pain,
Sleep as your comrades weep,
We beg you to remain.
Your wounds are deep...
Too deep to mend
And you're longing for the end
You're so tired,
Tired of the horror, the gore of war,
But stay awhile more.

Wake now, man of tears.
Ahead are dark, hard years,
But fight on, fight on,
Till the darkness is gone,
Though you're tired,
Go again through the horror, the gore of war,
Just for awhile more...

Very sad, yeah when will all this war and hatred came to an end? Aren't there other solutions? Always the good suffers for the bad. All we can do is hope for a better future.
Excellent write, well done, 5/5, kel.
