When did fairy tales become so fake?
She thinks of snow white, with lips so red and skin so white,
How all she done was appear dead to find her true love,
She lives like that every day.
Cinderella went to a ball and lost a heel,
If only it was that simple.
Belle fell for a beast,
Now don't we all?
Sleeping beauty pricked her finger,
How cliche that the men of their dreams just simply appear,
She wonders if it really ever happens.
While she longs for the one that will hold her tight.
Maybe if she was beautiful like in the story,
Maybe if she was a fairy tale and her life was an open book.
She wouldn't have to fake a smile,
She could love openly and free,
Dance and sing with the birds and bees.
A beast she loved could turn into the perfect hansome prince
Or she could live under the sea.
These are the dreams of a girl who doesn't live in the world of make believe.
