Winter Day (CinqTroisDecaLa Rhyme)

by Sylvia   Nov 11, 2008

Sitting by the fire, watching as the flames dance a mean Swing.
Swirling, embracing and moving, the rhythm is their own thing.
Warmth penetrating your being, so desperate for it to stay.
Outside the window, rain and snow are the order of the day.
If cold had substance or form, it would appear with a pure sheen.
Trees are brown and barren, the wind blowing dead leaves away clean.
Cedars and pines, the only touches of green that can be seen.
Flocks of wild geese in vee formation, flying south until spring.
Squirrels the color of chestnut brown foraging food to drey.
The view from my window, in all its glory, a winter scene.
