In honour of rememberance day

by Jessie   Nov 11, 2008

In those Trenches.

In those trenches they will die,
Below the ash and plane filled sky,
With their almost empty bottle of rye,
You can here one give out a cry,
In those trenches they must defend,
Even though their own lives might end,
Without a love or a friend,
But with the letters they must send,
In those trenches they will fight,
But they need a love to write,
With their sense of wrong and right,
They are all just like knights,

In those trenches they will stay,
But with their lives is how they’ll pay,
with dying hopes of that one day,
now this is where their body’s lay,

In those trenches, those men
became hero’s
and shall never be forgotten
Lest We Forget.
