I see you walk the halls
and pretend I'm not there,
pretend you didn't see me
like i pretend i don't really care

i see you with your friends
and wish i could be there too
wish we could just make up
and i could confess my love for you

i wish i could look into your eyes
and finally let you know
just how terrible it was
for me to pick up and go

but those are simply wishes
dreams for the young and helpless
lost in the world of love
and add to the emptiness

so while i wish for you
