Masks of People

by Lyrical Heart   Nov 12, 2008

Here I sit all by myself.
Surrounded by lies and masks.
Why do they wear those ridiculous things?
Even in bed they appear!
I am so confused way I can't show my face,
To smile and laugh and cheer.
Why should I hide away from the world if the world won't disappear?
I'm as pretty as her, as smart as him.
Yet they hide it away in their masks.
His gorgeous brown eyes, her rosy red cheeks
All smothered under a plate.
Come out, little ones!
And look at the sun!
And play and run and laugh.
Life is too short to hide yourself,
Whether you're pretty or not.
