I Asked the Lord {11-6-08}

I got on my knees
and began to pray
i prayed up to the Lord
cuz i had somethin to say.
i asked for forgiveness
i asked for mercy
i asked if he could see
the pain inside of me.
i asked the Lord
what he would do
if i went
before my life was through.
i asked the Lord
if forgiveness was right
cuz i didn't know
what i did that night.
so as i got on my knees
and started to pray
the Lord said to me
"Give it another day."
