Parting Gift

by Melissa   Nov 12, 2008

I know it's getting late,
but I have no kisses to swallow
and oh my silly tongue
still finds comfort
in muddled prose

-his words-

even those wrinkled lines
of infidelity
that cannot be smoothed
by language,

I'm sorry
is all he wrote

(what a sloppy thing to scribe)

I'm sorry does not salve
the heart
or blot it's poetry

but thanks to his careless diction

I'm starting to explore
the possibilities of prose

-my words-

There is so much power and truth in your words. Nothing excessive or unnecessary in your writing - No padding - Concise and cutting.
