Denied

To all the soldiers who have died
My heart is with you wherever you lie
And to your families who have revived
Isn’t it amazing how much failure can buy?

Speak to him the name Abraham Solarez
Tell me if he replies because he doesn’t speak to me anymore
We are more apart then life and death is
This was not the way things were long before

Who are you to take my brother from me?
He’s all I’ve know of comfort and sanity
He was far enough as it was now he’ll be going to another country
Now I’m left with a hole in my sock and anxiety

Fame introduced him to horrible failure
Took his dreams and perfect world then denied them
For this situation there is no reasonable cure
All because he wasn’t the average sized stem

No, God forbid 5’10 hockey players
Talent never got anyone anything anyway
It’s not Christ that denies it’s you who doesn’t answer prayers
Now my sanctuary is fading away

Tales of fantasy and words of divinity
And what if his voice never calls to me again?
All my passion lost and spoiled serenity
A brother can’t be replaced by a friend

In my dreams last night I saw your face
Memory flows through my veins
And I’ll forget you just to keep up the pace
But that’s a lie because your words stain
