Vampire

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Nov 14, 2008

You have this thought inside your head
That I'm some romantic sight
Pale white skin and deep black eyes
It's for hunting prey in the night

They found us at the church's doors
I was sucking out her life
Through slashes in both her wrists
She made them with her knife

I never bit her, I promise this
It was the smell in the air
Two deep cuts and glazed blue eyes
She's dying, no one would care

When she saw me coming
Her eyes got wide in fear
She tried to scream through my fingers
But nobody was there to hear

The feeling of my teeth
As they sank inside her skin
With the taste that I so long have craved
Let the story now begin

They found us on the steps of the church
You're crimson arm in my mouth
The moonlight reflected silver
On the ribbon of red that I can't be without

They screamed so many words
That broke the stillness of the world
Her screaming voice would get us caught
So I snapped her neck and ended her

I left you my precious one
On the dark red steps
I ran as fast as my legs could move
More than any man at his best

The sirens started blaring
Like the weakness in my knees
To my left I saw an owl
Standing on a wall of trees

Faster than ever before
I ran to save my life
Well, if that's what you call this
Hiding from the flashing lights

I heard a fat man talking
They know which way I went
Suddenly a dog broke through the bush
I broke the animals neck

It's blood made me disgusted
I only live for blood like yours
My dear, you were so full of life
Some people trickle, but you pour

I ran away from the filthy beast
But the wood gave me away
The breaking branches and rustled leaves
They followed me with haste

When every sound stopped moving
The world froze before my eyes
A loud explosion in my ear
The burning in my side

Humans will never know what silver feels
When it touches our skin
Like fire and ice together
Fighting for the kill

Then small silver rain started falling
It cooled everything but this
I looked up at the midnight sky
Blew out the lights and made a wish

The trees stripped void of every leaf
The moon does not seem far
But these branches that obstruct the light
Like a twisted ugly scar

Do you still see the romance?
You asked me what I was
You slit your wrists like I was joking
When I said I lived of blood

    *laughs at the comment above*

Does no one see the metaphores in this? The poem isnt just a story about a vampire, it goes so much deeper.
