Shadow Dancing

by Bill Turner   Nov 15, 2008

I met myself in the shadow of my dream
Clinging to a bottle of Mad Dog and sanity
Fingers etched in the glass, pulling at my wine
Visions of narcotics dancing through my brain
Cells riding the obliteration train

Hold tight, cling to liberty
As madness dances near the flame
Scooping up youth along the way
Take another pull at the bottle
Time to crank up life, full throttle

Mad dog bites man, it is twenty twenty
Never fully satisfied with life
Just getting blown away
Retching on my shoes
Same old news

Nembutal can make you small
Ask Alice as she slides down the hole
Icy fingers gripping me
Tugging at my mind
Squeezing my one eye blind

Dancing across candy cane land
Sounds buzzing my head
Colors of the Kasbah
One more sip of wine
Shadows dancing just fine

It may be MD 20/20 but it doesn't make the vision 20/20. I love the way you curb to that in the poem is that after drinking enough of it you will "see just fine". Wondefful job on this dear. I know it is much deeper than I described but I seen a lot of the whole "Pink Floyd lyrics coming out in you again. Take care, Kay
