Welcome to the life,
The life I left behind.
Welcome to the pain,
The sorrow and the confinement.
It's sleeting there,
It is a blizzard of frozen rain.
Here I stand, watching it from afar.
Standing in the crisp air,
Of my autumn life.
Changes are happening all around,
But here I am safe.
Safe from the sorrow,
Safe for the disease that was my life.
The colors are bright,
The sky is clear here.
A scarf around my neck,
A hood covering my head.
I watch the storm brew as it gets farther and farther away.
The shock of seeing it is over and now I can stroll.
The scenery of this new road,
Just takes my breath away.
Something the snow could never do.
