Tired Souls

by Iola   Nov 17, 2008

Burned card box does not unfold
Even if you say that your love will
A body young in a mind too old
Thoughts alive
Heart dead still

Popcorn crackles between my teeth
It cuts and the blood tastes like wine
A burning flame does not reveal beneath
Dead hard wax
Covers up time

New beginnings a painful twist in fate
Even the ostrich looks cleverer than me
You can come over if I prepare some bate
Tears of dust
Must not see

Giving you love to a point I cannot touch
A place that is creamy with rotten holes
I am lost in a world where I love too much
One of many
Tired souls

Evening stars are like medicine and cream
For a moment it lifts me out of my despair
I want to sleep and forget and just dream
Just imagine
I am there

One foot in front as I dress like your doll
Dryer skin gets covered in buttery blink
Give me hope and I will give you my all
Broken inside
Unable to think
