Dreamt

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 19, 2008

I dreamt a dream of lovers weeping,
Tears of soul slowly seeping,
Washing down this littered street,
As hopes of man fall incomplete.

Drowning in this moral woe,
Who is friend and who is foe?
Who shall rise and who shall tumble?
As this world and city crumble.

I stopped to ponder if I dreamed,
For this was life each day it seemed,
Nothing truly left behind,
Waking world in sleeping mind.

I woke to wander through the street,
To lay my eyes on something sweet,
Two lovers flaunting passion's spark,
Friends and families in the park.

Some reassurance life's okay,
Regardless of my yesterday,
What I hope to find out here,
As daylight fades and dreams grow near.

Excellent flow in this thought provoking piece. The rhythm is rather catchy. Great ending too. Thoughts many can surely relate to. Nice job!
