Leaf's Fall

by Emily   Nov 19, 2008

Sky shaded grey, air turns crisp,
Light softly fades, wind turns brisk.
Winter's first whispered threat.
Green leaf shivers sensing the warning,
Quivering under dark, cold, foreboding.

Sky gleams blue, air now chilled,
The clear, bright sky, with birds now filled,
Autumns call is ringing,
Crimson leaf in burning splendor,
In it's last radient grandeur.

Sky made dark with flurrying snow,
As the wind, viciously does blow,
While winter's breath freezes all,
Brown leaf is reft and held aloft,
Lightly drifts to earth, a death so soft.
