An Apology for My Heart to Mend

by EpithetPoet   Nov 19, 2008

Couldn't you hear that sweet breeze
Falling beneath the willow trees
We closed our eyes to drink it in
And thought about where it had been

What a weary traveller you said to me
I smiled and whispered "he must be"
It's been ages since he's spoken aloud
To you and me, he must be proud

I arched my back to the blades of grass
Stared above, my eyes reflected like glass
"Your eyes look even bluer in this light"
My arms tingled with a sense of delight

The leaves above danced yet again
Flickered and fluttered and just then
One fell down to kiss my head
An apology for my heart to mend

Love is love

The imagery you created with only a few words is amazing. I loved this poem. 5/5
