Feel Like a Feather

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Nov 20, 2008

"All I've ever wanted
was to feel as light
as a feather &&
as free as
the wind

All I've ever wanted
was to feel as though -
I'm enough"

Flying, how perfect
How naive for you to say
All I ever wanted was to stay in one place
Can I stay with you today?

Simple, how elegant
The dance of the feathers in the air
All I ever wanted was to be enough
To be enough for you to care

I love you, how sarcastic
The little spikes inside your voice
I fly around till you've had your fun
I fly because I have no choice

Manipulation, how you
You pull my like I'm just some puppet
And I dangle and fly from many strings
Till you decide to cut it

Flying, how perfect
When falling is your fear
But I'd rather fall and shatter
Than be played by you, my dear

(contest poem, not about anyone.)

^^ I feel like this every day and that's what made the poem hard to swallow. in the very beginning you've already got all of my doubts summarized. it's beautiful, jesse. you write amazingly.
