Arrogant Dream

by EpithetPoet   Nov 21, 2008

Give me pills to make me high
To forget all the times i sat and cried
Upon that chaise a thousand degrees
Dictating our love upon my knees

Clouds blanketed my morning rise
Razors etching my blurry eyes
So red so red so beautifully new
These pills create a wonderful you

They tell me they tell me a hundred times
A hundred times
A hundred times
My words slur to forget I am lost in a rhyme

Alive in wonderland walking the seas
So big so small pestilent disease
Creeping back up towards my mind
These pills these pills have made me blind

Upon that chaise a thousand degrees
Pumping pills til I couldn't scream
So hot so furious so tainted with fear
Don't move, don't speak, it's coming near

Fight it fight it be happy and cheer
You're one day closer to being clear
But it's coming I feel it, slithering in and out
Christ I compel you make me devout

With no saviour in sight, my will be done
Pharmaceuticals my friend you've yet won
My mind is a blur, a shock and awe
Depression, my love, my trusted flaw

So beautiful. Just beautiful. The last line especially.

It's been too long. Each time I visit this site, sporadically, I find parts of myself stacked in the hidden bookshelves of poetry. Dusty & hidden. It's like the library's we discontinue going to. Yet ironically digital.

I wish you well my dear Epithet Poet.
