Flaming star (Tanka)

by Ingrid   Nov 24, 2008

Flaming star (Tanka)

Flaming star guide me
to where peaceful waters flow
Warm my heart with care
Lead me to safer pastures,
faithful keeper of my soul

A Tanka is a Japanese format with a 5-7-5-7-7 rhyming scheme.
It expresses a deeper feeling using images of nature.

Sometimes we need to write big size poems to describe a certain issue and sometimes only a few words are enough to convey deep thought. You have cleverly chosen the second way. Subtle words, deeper meaning. Absoluety amazing poem..

I am always amazed at the short forms. You use so few words to say so much. An excellent write as usual from you. Good work. 5/5.
