Daises

by Nia Warfeld   Nov 27, 2008

Put away the daises from the deep grave,

Bring back the life they failed to save,

To run and play just like the golden days,

To see a clear blue sky instead of grey,

To hold hands once more and whisper a smile,

So you could enjoy the light and stay for a while,

It won't hurt my heart to see you gone,

I won't cry myself to sleep when the night dawns,

No more packing your stuff like it's trash,

No more great memories fading like the past,

Then I won't have to tell the story of your death,

Trying not to think of when you took your last breath,

The purpose of your life on this earth renewed,

Because you didn't reach the age when it became overdue,

But we all know that the gift of life can't be restored,

That when it's gone, it's gone you can't wish anymore,

But you can pray, dream, and wonder,

Why the mystery of life is as loud as thunder,

I know that you will always be around,

Because your spirit is far from the ground.
