Butterfly

by StandStill   Nov 28, 2008

[Everyone]
can make the butterfly smile.
They dance and they sing their perfect songs
[All I can do is make her cry].

It's frustrating to see her curl up
into her [tight] cocoon,
hiding herself away from the petty world.
[She's always hiding from me].

There's generally a rainstorm on days like today,
but they're just [grey] and that's ok.
I'm scared the rain will break her [wings] down.
What if she flies away [from me]?

Oh, love, it's just [another] day in this sandbox world..
[nothing] ever makes sense.
Rue tomorrow.
The butterfly [dies].
