Journey of the Heart

I have tried to understand
what it is my heart yearned for
But the answer always eluded me
Being just outside my reach.

It pained me deep inside.
Not knowing what was missing
from this ordinary life of mine
just knowing that it needed more.

Then one day I met you
and then I understood.
That I really needed
your love and understanding.

My heart has been on a long journey
Searching for that special someone
That most only find once in a life time.
Sigh that is what I want and need.

Learning that the hearts journey
is a painful and tricky one.
But at the end of the day it was worth it
because I now have you by my side.
